Why this role matters The Salvation Army (Salvos) provides a wide range of services that support women and women with children who are impacted by or at risk of family and domestic violence. Salvos offer accommodation, counselling, support, behavioural programs, and referral services with a focus on prevention, restoration, and healing that addresses immediate safety issues that assist the recovery journey. About the role We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Specialist Family Violence Practitioner to support the in the delivery of high quality, safe and effective family violence and child well-being responses to those seeking support, safety, and recovery. The Specialist Family Violence Practitioner stands at the front line of hope and healing. It is more than just case management—it is a powerful act of walking beside women and children who have been silenced, offering them a voice, safety, and the chance to rebuild their lives with dignity. This role is about restoring trust, fostering resilience, and making sure no woman or child faces this journey alone. Reporting to your Team Leader, this is a Max-term (12 months), Full-time, position based in Windsor, Victoria. You will successfully Build trusting, empowering relationships that promote client voice, self-determination, and safety. Provide tailored, client-led case management from intake to exit, grounded in ongoing, holistic assessment. Co-create and drive dynamic case plans that adapt to changing needs, ensuring meaningful progress toward client goals. Advocate for access to essential services and strengthen community connections that support long-term stability. Maintain clear, timely records, flag risks early, and contribute to service improvements that truly make a difference. You will have A tertiary qualification in Social Work is essential (Essential) Experience working in the family violence sector (Desirable).
