Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely. About The Role We are seeking a values-driven Outreach Nurse EN The Outreach Nurse will provide assertive outreach and harm reduction services to individuals and groups. Improving health, wellbeing and inclusion amongst People Who Use Drugs (PWUD). Reporting to the Outreach Coordinator this is a Permanent, Full-time role, located in St. Kilda, Victoria. You will successfully Collaborate with the team to ensure services align with TSA's AOD care model, policies, and procedures, including harm reduction, the social model of health, and trauma-informed care. Deliver client-centered, evidence-based harm reduction, health promotion, and trauma-informed support. Provide sterile injecting equipment and naloxone, along with overdose training, to clients. Ensure clients receive holistic, culturally sensitive care that meets their needs. Build strong partnerships with police, ambulance, and other professionals for client safety and well-being. Triage health needs and offer nursing and first aid support as needed. Provide high-quality vein care and wound management. Assess client health needs, report findings to the Project Coordinator, and ensure appropriate service provision. Complete all reporting, case notes, data management, and administrative tasks accurately and confidentially. You will have Certification of being an Enrolled Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via AHPRA or Registered Allied Health professionals with relevant skills and experience will be considered. Experience and competency in delivering accessible Primary Health Care, AOD and Harm Reduction Services. Strong understanding of the health and AOD harm reduction needs of people who use drugs, people who are experiencing homelessness, people who engage in street-based sex work or people experiencing discrimination, stigma or issues accessing health services due to other reasons. A Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check A current and valid Working with Children’s Check A valid Victorian Driver's license.
