About the Role We are seeking a faith filled Children & Youth Ministry Assistant to join our team. Reporting to the Corps Officers (Ministry Team Leaders), you will play a vital role in nurturing and developing faith-based programs that support young people on their spiritual journey and foster strong community connections. This position is a Full -time permanent position and will require a willingness to work Sunday mornings as part of your rostered hours. You will successfully Grow and strengthen your personal relationship with God through regular Bible study, prayer, and active participation in worship services and discipleship groups. Develop and lead engaging children’s and youth programs that align with the TSA Mission Intentions, Local Church Mission Plan, and the unique needs of participants. Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers in accordance with TSA policies and procedures. Provide Pastoral care to children and youth in church and community settings Build and nurture collaborative relationships with Salvation Army Youth Services and other relevant community organizations. Leading small faith-based groups, providing pastoral care, and delivering Bible messages to children and youth. You are compassionate and committed to supporting people from all walks of life, demonstrating cultural understanding and sensitivity. What You Bring Essential: A strong and mature Christian faith, with the ability to disciple others on their journey with Jesus. Commitment to The Salvation Army’s mission and willingness to become a Senior Soldier (if not already one). Passion and experience for supporting young people and the ability to communicate the Christian Gospel in a way that resonates with them. A current NT Driver’s Licence. Desirable: Certificate IV or Diploma in Ministry/Theology or Youth Work, or willingness to pursue further study. Experience working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, especially Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
